Constructed in laser cut and machined metal, metal parts have a mild cold blue applied , this replica has a removable stock just like the real one, a removable replica magazine that has a fixed follower, no internal spring and will not accept ammunition. It is deliberately a bit larger in dimensions so as to not create issues with all states firerarms legislation, will not fit a real owen gun , and is NOT classed as a large capacity magazine for licensing purposes. The trigger is spring loaded , however there is no cock and click function and no internal bolt, there is a replica bolt return spring in the receiver housing. The grips are router cut timber mdf to simulate the original cotton filled plastic grips. SECOND HAND $ 1550.00 : A very nice Australian Lithgow 1942 manufactured SMLE No1 MK 3 .303 Rifle. Matching serial numbers on receiver, bolt, bayonet boss. This is the Target Rifle version, also called a Range rifle. Fitted with a No 4 Central sight with mounting plate to the rear and a 12/1952 Heavy barrel with rear iron sight removed as per range rifles. Barrel is dark but in my opinion plenty of life left in it with very good rifling.. All metal work is excellent with nice bluing and no rust or pitting. Wood work is very good with stamp III * and 1943 readable on the butt. Price is plus freight or pick up from Mount Morgan Guns.
